The only female manager at Coco Shambhala Goa, Lumen D’Souza is the very embodiment of strength, humility and ethics.

Don’t let her youthful eyes and young persona fool you! Lumen has over 23 years of experience in the hospitality world. She has worked with major boutique properties across Goa and is now the proud General Manager of Coco Shambhala.

The Konkan region is home to Lumen. It is where she grew up, and always wanted to live. To her, showcasing the beauty of the tropics instills a sense of pride. And she does such a good job of it!

A quiet and extremely humble lady, Lumen’s eyes light up when she shares anecdotes of her experiences in the travel world. She’s happy to share her stories with guests and staff alike, and is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Lumen, true to her name, is a bright shining light emerging from her humble background and into becoming a stalwart of the boutique hotel industry. When asked about what she loves most about her job, she responds excitedly, “I love meeting new people!”. Seeing the happiness on a guest’s face is the most satisfying perk of the job for her.

And that is a reflection of the core philosophy of the Coco Shambhala brand—to make people happy. It’s quite simple, really!
